Starlink Mini Dish for $200 in Latin America

Starlink Mini Dish for 200 in Latin America

SpaceX is selling its new Starlink Mini dish for a third of the US price in Latin American countries.

While US customers can purchase the Mini dish for $599, residents in Colombia, El Salvador, Guatemala, and Panama can get it for just $200. Additionally, the monthly service fee is $35, much lower than typical broadband costs in these regions.

The Starlink Mini service, intended for personal and household use, offers internet speeds between 50-100Mbps, which is lower than the 150-250Mbps provided by the standard Starlink dish. Despite this, the affordable pricing makes it an appealing option for users in remote or rural areas where broadband options are limited.

SpaceX’s CEO, Elon Musk, indicated that the Mini dish might eventually be priced lower in the US. Currently, a limited number of US customers are invited to try the dish for $599, with a $30 monthly fee.

This approach aims to expand Starlink’s global user base, particularly in markets where traditional connectivity is either unaffordable or unavailable. With over 3 million users globally, SpaceX continues to grow its reach in underserved regions.
