Spotify is raising prices again in the US for its Premium, Duo, and Family plans. The monthly cost of the Individual Premium plan is increasing by $1 to $11.99, Duo by $2 to $16.99, and Family by $3 to $19.99. Student plans remain at $5.99.
Spotify says this increase will allow them to invest in new features and improve the user experience. They’ve recently added audiobooks to Premium and are testing features like music videos and AI-generated playlists.
Users who don’t want to pay more can cancel their subscriptions or consider alternatives like Apple Music or Tidal. Those on free trials will get one month at the old price before being charged the new rate.
Research suggests Spotify users may be more likely to accept the price increase compared to video streaming services, due to Spotify’s larger music library.
