A critical outage is causing disruption for millions of ChatGPT users globally. This popular tool, utilized for coding, brainstorming, and report writing, has been down for over 3 hours.
Despite not being universally adopted, ChatGPT holds a significant user base of 180 million active individuals, many of whom have integrated it into their daily workflows. This extended downtime is proving particularly frustrating as users await a resolution.
OpenAI, the developers behind ChatGPT, has yet to comment on the cause but is actively searching for a fix. This incident comes after a similar outage last year linked to a DDoS attack.
According to Downdetector, the initial reports emerged around 2.30am ET, with peak issues concentrated in the US and UK. Users are currently unable to access ChatGPT on either the web browser or mobile app, encountering an “internal server error” message on the mobile app.
