Neuralink’s second human recipient, Alex, is already using the brain chip implant to play Counter-Strike 2. After losing control of his limbs due to a spinal cord injury, Alex received the implant last month and can now control a computer mouse through the chip.
This allows him to simultaneously aim and move in the game, a significant improvement over the QuadStick controller he previously used.
The implant has also enabled Alex to work on 3D designs, including creating a custom mount for the Neuralink charger. Neuralink has improved the implant procedure to avoid issues encountered with the first patient, ensuring better stability of the brain chip in Alex.
The company plans to enhance the chip’s capabilities further, aiming to provide full control of a mouse and game controller, as well as enabling interaction with the physical world through robotic arms or wheelchairs.
