Lego Website Hit by Fake ‘Lego Coin’ Crypto Scam

Lego Website Hit by Fake 'Lego Coin' Crypto Scam

Lego’s official website was briefly compromised on Friday in a crypto scam promoting a fake “Lego Coin.” The scam promised “secret rewards” to users who bought the fraudulent coin using Ethereum. According to fan reports on Reddit and The Brick Fan, the attack lasted around 75 minutes before the issue was resolved.

The scam led users to a malicious website designed to accept Ethereum payments. However, Lego was quick to reassure customers, stating that no user accounts were compromised, and the website was back to normal operations. The company is implementing security measures to prevent future incidents.

This is not the first time major platforms have been targeted by crypto scammers. Earlier this month, OpenAI’s official X account was hijacked to promote a fake coin, and even the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission fell victim to a similar hack in January. Crypto scams are becoming increasingly common, exploiting both big brands and individual users.
