Apple Reportedly Developing Ultra-Thin Versions of MacBook Pro, iPhone, Apple Watch

Apple is reportedly working on ultra-thin versions of the iPhone, Apple Watch, and MacBook Pro, taking cues from the newly launched super-thin iPad Pro.

Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman revealed in his PowerOn newsletter that the upcoming iPhone 17 will include a significantly slimmer model. The same trend will extend to future MacBook Pro and Apple Watch models, with the company aiming to introduce some of the thinnest devices in the tech industry.

Gurman suggests that the M4 iPad Pro, launched earlier this month, signals the start of a new class of ultra-thin Apple products. This aligns with a report from The Information earlier in the week, which also pointed to Apple’s focus on slimming down the iPhone 17. While no specific timeline was given for the launch of the thinner MacBook Pro or Apple Watch, speculation hints at a possible unveiling for the smartwatch’s 10th anniversary in 2025.

This move is part of a broader trend at Apple, which has been consistently pushing the boundaries of device thinness. However, the challenge remains balancing design with functionality, ensuring that the drive for thinner devices does not compromise their performance or durability.
