Apple Maps Now Available on the Web A New Era of Navigation

Apple Maps has made its debut on the web, allowing users to access it via Safari and Chrome on Mac and iPad, as well as Chrome and Edge on Windows PCs through beta.maps.apple.com.

This new web version offers driving and walking directions, along with the ability to browse Guides for local recommendations, complete with photos, hours, ratings, and reviews.

Initially, the web version focuses on these core features, but Apple has announced plans to roll out additional functionalities, including the Look Around feature, in the coming months. Currently, the service is only available in English, but Apple plans to support more languages and browsers over time.

Despite Apple Maps being preinstalled on iPhones, Google Maps remains the most popular mapping app in the US, followed by Waze, according to 2023 Statista data. This new web availability might be Apple’s strategic move to gain more traction in the competitive mapping space.
