A vintage iPhone from 2007 that has never been opened sold at auction for $63,356.40.

The iPhone was sold in an LCG auction for an estimated $50,000, with bids starting at roughly $2,500 and receiving a total of 27 offers. It’s an 8GB iPhone that cost $599 when it was introduced on June 29, 2007.

Karen Green considered selling the phone several times throughout the years. However, decide to keep it for a while.

“I thought to myself, ‘Oh my God, I think I have the original,'” she said. “I called my son and I was like, ‘Go get the phone and make sure it’s not opened.”

In the daytime TV show “Doctor & the Diva” in 2019, the iPhone was estimated to be worth $5,000.

At the time her friends purchased her the phone, she had three Verizon phone lines, and the iPhone only worked with AT&T. Rather than going through the difficulty and expense of transferring, she simply set the iPhone aside (wrapped in felt pajamas).

Green decided to sell the unopened phone for a good cause, as she plans to use the funds to support her own cosmetic tattoo studio in New Jersey, and she told Business Insider, “The only reason I am selling that phone is that I need to support this business.” Otherwise, she planned to keep it for another decade.

Should we get a latest iPhone now then keep it for 20 years or more then make profit of it in an auction? Hmm it might be a good investment.
