As per Semafor, Microsoft is eyeing a $10 billion stake in ChatGPT creator OpenAI as part of a $29 billion fundraising investment.
It is said that there is an increase in interest in the new Artificial company, whose chatbot can answer almost anything and can even compose a rap song on any theme.
Other firms and investors may potentially contribute to the finances of the AI company. For the time being, it is unknown whether the deal has been concluded; however, documents distributed to prospective investors in recent weeks explaining the parameters of the deal suggested a target closure date of the end of 2022.
Microsoft has already invested $1 billion in OpenAI, which was founded by Elon Musk and Sam Altman, and the business is currently working on incorporating ChatGPT into their Bing Search Engine in order to attract more users.
Microsoft will also receive 75% of OpenAI’s income until it recoups its initial investment, according to Semafor. After reaching that level, Microsoft would own 49% of OpenAI, with other investors owning 49% and OpenAI’s nonprofit parent owning 2%.
ChatGPT gained popularity owing to the way it responds to inquiries; it allows users to easily ask follow-up questions on their first query. ChatGPT answers every question as if it were a human.
