Google Search is having errors when you search for “How many emojis on iOS,” “How many emojis on Apple,” and “How many emojis on Windows.” It shows “Server Error; We’re sorry but it appears that there has been an internal server error while processing your request.”
As stated in the Bleeping Computer article, the bug was initially discovered on the New Zealand-specific Google site Google.co.nz by YCombinator Hacker News user wfme. They were able to duplicate the problem on both the Google Search website and the Android app.
As shown in the image, the exact error message says:
“We’re sorry but it appears that there has been an internal server error while processing your request. Our engineers have been notified and are working to resolve the issue. Please try again later”
One of the YCombinator Hacker News user named llui85 collected a list of queries that trigger the issue:
- “how many emojis on ios”
- “how many emojis on apple”
- “how many emojis on windows”
- “how many emojis on lumia”
- “how many emojis lumia”
- “how many ios emoji” – working (albeit slowly)
- “how many emojis in ios”
- “how many emojis inside ios”
A Reddit user, gottago gottago, suggested that the problem may be caused by Emojipedia.com, since it crashes when you search for it directly in Google.
The issues appear to be resolved as of October 16th, 10:51 AM ET. There has been no comment from Google on the matter.
