Microsoft has officially launched Copilot for Security, an AI-powered tool leveraging GPT-4 technology to assist cybersecurity professionals in fighting cybercrime. After a year of development and an early access testing phase, the product will be available globally on April 1st.
Copilot for Security integrates with both Microsoft’s cloud security solutions and third-party products. This AI assistant can analyze security intel from a company’s network, generate incident reports, highlight threats, and recommend actions to address them. It can even explain the activities of malicious code and write summaries for non-technical users, streamlining threat analysis and communication.
Microsoft emphasizes that Copilot for Security complements, rather than replaces, human expertise and existing security tools. It aims to boost security professionals’ productivity and efficiency. Early feedback indicates a positive impact, particularly for less experienced team members.
Microsoft’s CVP for Security, Vasu Jakkal, highlights the surging need for powerful cybersecurity tools. Users of the early access program report increased speed, accuracy, and most importantly, a strong desire to continue using the product.
Copilot for Security will use a flexible “pay as you go” pricing model, allowing businesses to scale costs according to their specific needs.
